Elastic Rhymes II
These paintings arise the way a city does over time -- strata upon strata forming a crazy quilt of collisions and disjunctive adjacencies.
Inspiration comes from contemplation of incongruities make up our world... a brick façade with a recently sealed up window of bricks of a different size and color...or Rome’s Pantheon built on top of a pagan temple.
The wall, the church or –even ideas and our selves --- appear to be one simple thing, but look more closely and you see aggregates. Residues of past and present mix and swirl together.
