Sculptural Painting 1
Sculptural paintings float two inches off the wall. The reverse side, painted a fluorescent color, reflects a soft colored glow on the wall that shifts in changing light conditions. The fluctuating light forms an immaterial ground for the piece.
Flaps or collaged pieces conceal or reveal hidden passages and colors, encouraging multiple relations and ways to travel through each piece.
Color and shape co-emerge in a back-and-forth process between painting colors and massing pieces of paper. In this synesthetic process of mingling, shape suggests color and color suggests shape.
